Dr. Seuss' Birthday

Our day to host Michael's play group this month just happened to fall on Dr. Seuss' birthday, so we decided to celebrate--Cat in the Hat style! The elementary schools all have a week long celebration so Tyler and Jacob were supposed to dress up in different things each day of the week--that's how I knew about it. For Michael's "preschool" we made those hats and had "Cat in the Hat" snacks (red jello layered with Cool Whip) and of course read "The Cat in the Hat". Wouldn't you know it, the kids actually didn't really like the jello! All that work to make something special and you know what they wanted? Pretzels! Oh, well. It was fun anyway.

One of Jacob's friends heard what we were doing for "preschool" and offered to lend me his "Cat in the Hat" hat. I thought that was very nice of him!
